Many survivors kept quiet for decades about their experiences during partition - the 70th anniversary was a watershed moment.
The following stories have been adapted from Kavita Puri’s book Partition Voices, Untold British Stories (Bloomsbury), which documents the testimonies of individuals whose lives were shaped by partition. Now British citizens, these individuals are examples of how many of those affected by partition are now part of the fabric of British contemporary life.
