The Programme

Our Voices of Armed Forces Children Programme invites children, 6-18 years old, of currently serving or veteran members of the Army, Royal Navy and RAF, to reflect on what service life means to them.

Celebrating Military Children

April is Month of the Military Child and NSI has lots of great ways for young people and schools to participate! Learn more HERE!

The Choir

The Voices of Armed Forces Children Choir is a group of triservice children, 6-18 years old, from across the UK who have come together to sing for a wide variety of occasions! The choir was established by Never Such Innocence as part of our Voices of Armed Forces Children project. We encourage children of service members, both currently serving and veteran, to share what life is like for them. See some of their exciting performances below! O

The VOAFC Choir sings about service life. One of their songs, Welcome Home, was written during a Never Such Innocence song writing workshop with two children from Plymouth and The Voice! finalist, Bethzienna. The song won first place in the 9-11 age category in the Never Such Innocence annual international song competition 2021. It went on to be recorded at Abbey Road! For the semi finals of Britain’s Got Talent, they wrote another song, Stand Up. The choir is currently working on a full album, to be released in 2024!

Check out the choir’s performances of Welcome Home, The Most Famous Lady and Stand Up at the opening of the awards!

HMS Oardacious

We are partnering with HMS Oardacious - A team of 4 submariners who will be setting off in December from the Canaries and heading to Antigua as part of a transatlantic rowing race! The record was 34 days, so it is quite the trek! We've done a songwriting workshop with students in Portsmouth, which yielded a really lovely sea shanty which you can hear on the left!

To get involved, please email enquiries@neversuchinnocence.com.
