EMBASSY OF BELGIUM

It goes without saying that Belgium, and Flanders’ Fields in particular, plays a central role in the World War I Commemorations. Belgium and its people will be forever grateful to the UK and the Commonwealth countries for coming to the rescue one hundred years ago and defending Belgium’s freedom and independence. The Embassy of Belgium in London is proud to support a remembrance initiative like ‘Never Such Innocence’ (how appropriate to name your charity after Philip Larkin’s War Poem ‘MCMXIV’) and is honoured to have hosted a fundraising event this Centenary period.

Art Historian Nathalie Trouveroy, who is married to the Belgian Ambassador, kindly sits on the Art Competition's Judging Panel.
